KeyArena at Seattle Center Welcomes 17th Million Visitor

Nov 28, 2012

KeyArena reached a significant milestone this past week as it entertained its 17th million visitor during the 3 p.m. performance of Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “The Lost Christmas Eve” on Nov. 24. Since Oct. 1, KeyArena has hosted 15 events marking one of the busiest fall seasons in the building’s history. By the end of this year, KeyArena will have played host to 100 events.

The 17 million number includes all visitors to KeyArena starting on Oct. 26, 1995, when Jose Carreras reopened the newly renovated arena with 11,348 fans in attendance. Now home to the WNBA Seattle Storm, Seattle University Men’s Basketball, and the Rat City Rollergirls, KeyArena also hosts other sporting, entertainment, family and music performances that contribute to the vibrancy of Seattle’s cultural and entertainment sectors.

“We are excited to have achieved the benchmark of entertaining over 17 million visitors in KeyArena. It is a true testament to our staff and partners that so many happy customers have walked through our doors,” said Seattle Center Director, Robert Nellams.
