We Day Seattle
Thanks in part to Co-Title Sponsors, Microsoft and Amway
International charity and educational partner Free The Children is pleased to announce the first-ever U.S. We Day, featuring Jennifer Hudson, Magic Johnson and Martin Sheen, among many other notable speakers and performers. This youth-led empowerment event will take place in Seattle on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at KeyArena, thanks to co-title sponsors Microsoft and Amway North America, along with key Seattle-based supporters including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, Ballmer Family Giving, and We Day partners the Seattle Seahawks and A Better Seattle.
After a six-year history of inspirational and impactful We Day events, coupled with a year-long service program engaging hundreds of thousands of youth across Canada, Free The Children will make its U.S. debut to 15,000 students from schools across Washington State at We Day Seattle. Plans are underway to bring We Day to more cities across the U.S.
You can’t buy a ticket to We Day. You earn it through service by taking action on one local and one global issue through the We Act program. And Washington schools have already started to make a difference. Shorewood High School in Shoreline, Washington, raised more than $10,000 in the past year to support Free The Children’s communities in Kenya, providing the funds to build a new school from the ground up.
